This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source.The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to award a purchase order with Zonge International, Inc. of Tucson, Arizona for 2 data loggers and up to 12 magnetic sensors as described in the specifications below.Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 entitled, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Zonge International, Inc is, to the USGS knowledge, the only source who can provide products that work with existing Government inventory of MT equipment, consisting of Zonge International electromagnetic receivers that can record 6 channels at 32-bit fidelity with GPS synchronization. The requested data loggers and magnetic sensors are made specifically to work with the proprietary Zonge International data loggers currently in Government inventory and would seamlessly fit with existing equipment without any modifications. There are no known compatible components manufactured by any other vendors.The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible parties may submit a capability statement by the closing date of this announcement which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code - 334519 Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, with the associated size standard of 600 employees apply to this announcement.
