- The Town of Los Gatos is looking to contract with a professional geotechnical and geological engineering firm to perform peer reviews of geotechnical and geological reports submitted to the Town by land development project applicants. Individual tasks will be assigned on an as-needed basis for the various private development projects throughout Town.The successful firm will have the capability to perform technical reviews of the reports provided by project applicants to identify any procedures or conclusions that do not align with industry standards, codes, and regulations. Each peer review letter will be expected to provide comments that need to be addressed to conform to industry standards, codes, and regulations, or provide confirmation that the materials submitted do meet industry standards, codes, and regulations with any recommended conditions of approval for the application.The selected firm shall:Always have a California licensed Geotechnical Engineer, a California licensed Professional Geologist, and a California Certified Engineering Geologist on staff who can sign and seal the work to be performed under the contract.Be able to respond in a timely and cost-efficient manner.Be able to complete project review within the specified timeframes.Be able to attend public hearings (Planning Commission, Town Council, etc.) in support of the Parks and Public Works Department to discuss their review, address any concerns, and answer any questions from the deciding body.The Town intends to contract with a single engineering firm to best meet the needs of the Town. Upon its initial review of a new private land development project, the Town will process an Authorization to Proceed document in which the project address, application number, and task not-to-exceed dollar amount are specified.
