- Augusta, Georgia (augusta) Intends To Purchase Replacement Water Meters For All Of The More Than 70,000 Meters In Our Distribution System As Part Of Our Implementation Of Ami. An Ami Vendor Has Been Previously Identified As The Supplier For This Ami Network Through A Competitive Bid Process. The Augusta Utilities Directorate (aud) Has Determined That Ami Is The Most Practical Technology For Augusta And Expects To Achieve A Number Of Benefits, Including: ¿ Increase Meter Reader Safety ¿ Reduce Costs Associated With Reading Water Meter ¿ Minimize Errors In Reading Meters And Customer Billing It Is Not The Intent Of This Request To Solicit Proposals To Purchase Or Replace Ami Components Or Network Equipment Or For Installation Services, But To Solicit Proposals For Long-term Contracts To Purchase Water Meters Compatible With Our Ami Network And Distribution System.
