The White City VA Medical Center (VAMC) is hereby soliciting qualified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) contractors to provide services in Building 209. The scope of the project includes the modification or replacement of three doorways to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Currently, these doorways feature solid wood doors in steel frames with hardware for closing and latching.
The selected contractor will be required to convert these doors into automatic doors, operable by ADA-compliant buttons. The objective is to retrofit the existing doors and/or door locations with low-energy, power-operated swinging doors that can be activated by pressing a button from both sides of the doorway. Contractors are encouraged to reuse existing components where feasible.
Specific Locations Requiring Modifications:
First Floor: A single wood door in a steel frame providing access to the north wing. Second Floor: Two sets of opposing double doors, one set on each side of a central corridor, providing access to the north and south wings.Qualified contractors with relevant experience and capabilities are invited to submit their quotes for this project.
