This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for quotes.The Department of Veterans Affairs Buffalo VAMC intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Sole-Source SEWP contract Brand Name only action to:Name of Contractor:ThunderCat Technology Street Address:1925 Isaac Newton Square, Suite 180 City, State, Zip:Reston, VA 20190 The HD Ultrasound Bronchoscopes are used for OR surgical cases. The 2 primary indications for EBUS scopes are staging of lung cancer (severity) so the appropriate treatment can be delivered and to evaluate abnormal lesions that are found on a CXR or CT scan. These scopes allow the surgeon to do a sample of those affected areas. Currently the VA uses the EB19-J10U and the associated software that goes with it. These items are at the end of lifecycle and need to be replaced with current models to operate with current Pentax Software.The acquisition of other models would require purchasing all new software and would affect patient safety in delaying timely diagnosis of patient symptoms.This notice of intent to sole source with justification for brand name only satisfies the public posting requirements of FAR 13.501.This notice is not a request for quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the Government. All capability statements must be received by no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on June 28th. Responses to be submitted to Corey Swinton, Contracting Officer at Corey.Swinton@va.gov.
