Water Line Upgrade and Water Meter Installation860 North Chappell House - County of San BenitoThe County of San Benito is seeking qualified contractors to submit proposals for the upgrade of the main water line and installation of a new water meter at the 860 North Chappell House.Project ScopeThe existing 3/4\" water meter is to be upgraded to a 1\" meter.The County has already coordinated with the City of Hollister, submitted the meter upgrade application, and paid the associated fees.The Contractor-s scope of work will include:Upgrading the water line from the main street to the existing meter location.Completing all preparatory work necessary for the City of Hollister to install the new 1\" water meter. Following completion of the Contractor-s scope, the City of Hollister will replace the existing meter with the upgraded size.Contractor ResponsibilitiesThe contractors responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following.Obtain all necessary permits from the city and/or County, including encroachment permits required for street work.Trench work, traffic control, tapping into the existing water main, water line upgrade, backfilling and compacting the trench, and installing new asphalt over the trench area. Coordinate directly with the City of Hollister for required inspections, approvals, and the final connection of the upgraded water meter.Adhere to the provided plans and specifications (attached).Additional InformationThis is a plans-and-specifications project.The County will provide project scope plans for the water meter upgrade.Contractors are responsible for ensuring compliance with all City/County requirements throughout the project.All quotations must conform and be responsive in accordance with the RFQu posted through the County-s “OpenGov Procurement” website portal,https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/cosb.
