Title: AGS Quad and sextupole power supplies
This pre-solicitation notice serves as a synopsis and is posted in accordance with FAR subpart 5.2, Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. This is not a solicitation. Vendors shall not submit a quote until, and/or if, the solicitation is posted to the Governmentwide Point-of-Entry via www.SAM.gov. This announcement shall NOT be construed as a commitment by Brookhaven Science Associates LLC (BSA) to award a Subcontract. Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) reserves the right to use any and all information submitted by, or obtained from, an interested party in any manner BNL determines is appropriate, including, but not limited to, the creation of a competitive solicitation.
Background:
BNL is a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory multidisciplinary research facility, located on Long Island, New York.
BNL intends to compete, full and open, for three (3) AC to DC converters (power supplies) used in the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron (AGS) accelerator at BNL. These power supplies will be built to BNL specifications and will be utilized within the United States.

The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 335311, Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing and the applicable PSC is 6150, Miscellaneous Electric Power and Distribution Equipment. Interested parties must be registered under the NAICS code in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to submitting their quotes.
BNL intends to issue solicitation RFP-459871 in support of this requirement. The anticipated award contract type is a Firm Fixed Price contract. BNL anticipates the award date to be on or around 11/01/2025.
