The coating system on USCG aircraft provides the primary barrier against the severe maritime operating environments and protects the aircraft from corrosion. For these reasons, the USCG requires an aerospace high-durability coating system defined as an epoxy primer and a polyurethane topcoat produced by the same manufacturer.
