- The project involves widening the sidewalk along Allen Avenue between Walnut Street and north of the Allen Ave/Locust Street intersection, as well as installing curb extensions (bulb-outs) at the intersections of Allen Avenue with Walnut Street and Locust Street. It includes modifying the existing traffic signal at Allen Avenue and Walnut Street, installing a new pedestrian hybrid beacon at Allen Avenue and Locust Street, and replacing street lights between these intersections. As part of the traffic signal modification, new signal equipment, including standards, conduit, conductors, pull boxes, and controllers, will be installed. Additional work includes fiber optic installation, roadway restriping, catch basin relocation, and pavement slurry sealing.
