The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) intends to negotiate with the Children-s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a non-voting membership to the Center for Child Injury Prevention Studies (CChIPS); which provides NHTSA access to all of the research reports on a variety of topics related to child and adolescent safety from the academic and industrial community. This will be a follow-on, non-competitive, sole source contract used for devising strategies to save lives and reduce injuries from motor vehicle crashes.

The Center for Child Injury Prevention Studies (CChIPS or the Center) is an Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) established by the Children-s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to advance the safety of children, youth, and young adult motor vehicle occupants by facilitating scientific inquiry into childhood and young adult injuries and translating these findings into practical ways of preventing future injuries in crashes. The Center conducts research, performs technology development and evaluation, provides the academic and industrial community with enhanced education in areas of science related to childhood injuries, and facilitates information exchange and technology transfer.
