Description:
Tenders are invited for Assessment of Clean Cooking Market in Yemen. The overall objective of this activity is to conduct an operationally focused market assessment which would define; present; and recommend clean cooking solutions and potential business models that may be supported and piloted under the existing RY EEAP II and potentially pave the way for a new clean cooking operation; in the near future. It will seek to better understand the drivers of demand and supply of cooking solutions and identify market barriers; the specific needs of key market players and the type of support required to promote the growth of the efficient and clean cooking market in Yemen. Specific focus will be paid to possible synergies with the market for off grid electricity consumer products; such as lanterns or small solar systems; which are currently supported under the RY EEAP II. The activity will identify required steps and mechanisms towards consumer demand creation; set-up of supply chain; market barrier removal; overall stove efficiency improvement; and possible cleaner fuel substitution strategies while bearing in mind the unique and challenging operating environment that cookstove companies and MFIs face in Yemen. The WBG reserves the right to publicly disclose contract award information, including but not limited to, name of company receiving the award, brief description of services, and contract award amount, for any contract award valued over US$250,000. Offeror's proposal and contractual documents will remain confidential and therefore not subject to disclosure.
