Background
Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), in support of the Program Manager Combat Support Systems (CSS), is seeking information from industry concerning the capability requirements change for the Circuit Card Assembly Test Station (CCATS). The requirement for a Miniature/Microminiature (2M) Automated Circuit Card Test System (ACCTS) evolved from a need to support Field Level electronic equipment maintenance to reduce maintenance and sustainment costs and improve readiness levels of supported weapon systems while maintaining Marine Corps organic capabilities.

The current CCATS collects data by using manual probing methods to measure the electrical characteristics of electronic components using Analog Signature Analysis (ASA). Software and robotic technology advancements allow for improved standardized data collection, inspection, and testing. Automated methods of data collection (using electronic and optical techniques to measure electrical parameters using test equipment) will standardize data collection to a higher degree of accuracy and provide greater bandwidth capacity and speed.
