Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 intends to award a simplified acquisition using other than full and open competition for the Zeiss Protection Plan Extended Warranty of Carl Zeiss existing Axio Scan Z1 scanning microscope systems, and hardware/software at the Durham VA Health Care System, 508 Fulton St, Durham, NC 27705. The NAICS Code is 811210. The size standard is $34 million. The government intends to issue a sole-source award to Carl Zeiss for maintenance on a Zeiss System. The service will be for one (1) year. Carl Zeiss, Inc. manufactures the equipment and uses proprietary parts. The only company that can provide this service is Carl Zeiss, Inc. This procurement is intended to be awarded based on a sole-source requirement. This purchase will be made under simplified acquisition procedures authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete for this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotations should be emailed to Ronnie.Gregory@va.gov no later than 3:00 p.m. EST on May 2, 2025. Only proposals received by this date will be considered.
