Industry posed questions answered by the technical team. Extension of RFQ closing to March 21st, 2025 at 2:00pm ET.Question 1: Can the Government please confirm if the post-weld stress relief is required given the application for an equipment facility?
Answer 1: Yes. Post weld stress relief is required per the drawing 53X-01-100. The application of the Main Frame is to be built into a Fleet asset by the Towed Array Handling Equipment Facility.
Question 2: Can the Government please confirm the material specification for Item 14? It is listed as ASTM A300, but that specification is for testing. We are verifying it is S-1.
Answer 2: Recommend replacing with ASTM A500, Grade B- Cold Formed Welded and Seamless Carbon Steel Structural Tubing in Rounds and Shapes as it is appurtenant to ASTM A26, the steel spec for the surrounding material.
