- The Hingham Recreation Department requested and received funding from CPC in 2023 to hire a consulting firm to study and identify appropriate pickleball locations throughout town. A firm was hired to produce a location feasibility study which included site assessments, conceptual plans, and cost estimates. The location feasibility study recommended the Carlson Field location due to its accessibility, proximity to existing fields, and distance from the closest neighbor.The proposed project will be located across from the Carlson Field complex on Bare Cove Park Drive. There is currently an abandoned building at the site formerly used by the Traces HHS shop program. The project will include up to 12 post-tension concrete pickleball courts, a shaded seating area, and a parking lot.Anticipated timeline for available bid package: October 1, 2025. Anticipated commencement of construction: March/April 2026 Anticipated grand opening: September 2026
