Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source
The Medical Readiness Contracting Office-West, Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas intends to award a Sole Source Firm Fixed-Price contract to Cepheid, 904 East Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089-1189 for Moncrief Army Health Clinic, Fort Jackson, South Carolina. The procurement is for Maintenance on Government-owned Cepheid GeneXpert Molecular Analyzers. Cepheid is the sole manufacturer of the GeneXpert systems and is the only authorized provider of the required maintenance.
The North American Industrial Code System (NAICS) code of this procurement is 811210, Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, and the size standard is $34 million. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Only One Source Reasonably Available.
