• Description:
• The City desires to contract with a professional photographer or photography team to shoot and process images that represent the vibrancy of Chesapeake life and business. The project team is looking to establish a firm, fixed-price contract for a set of digital, edited, high-quality images that the City will have full usages rights to for a wide variety of web and printed materials.Images are used for a large variety of City work, including the upcoming Comprehensive Plan Update, and marketing the City to potential businesses and employers. The City is looking for a set of fresh, new, exciting photos to help showcase the best of our City and the wide range of aspects of life that Chesapeake offers (rural living on farms; walkable mixed use developments; cul-de-sac suburbia; large industrial businesses; small retail businesses!). Some images will highlight key aspects of the City that may need to be addressed in our Comprehensive Plan.Topics will likely include: transit, roadway congestion, residents biking and walking, trucking, small businesses in action, the agriculture economy, wildlife, examples of different yet compatible development, senior housing, human services, existing housing, new housing, rural character, open spaces, community amenities, tourism/attractions, fun, workforce preparedness, workforce opportunities, and the waterfront. The project team will work with the photographer to establish the final set of topics and a detailed shot list. The photographer can expect to travel around Chesapeake and photograph many different scenes and activities. Photos will encompass buildings, events, activities, landscapes, and people simply living their lives in Chesapeake.
