- Description:
- The project entails shoreline improvements along approximately 5 miles of the mainland coast in Hancock County, Mississippi. As authorized, the work includes construction of a 150-foot-wide beach berm designed to improve coastal reοΏ½silience and mitigate storm-related imοΏ½pacts. The berm will tie into either the eleοΏ½vation of the adjacent sidewalk along the existing seawall or the surrounding ground surface, whichever is lower, and will extend approximately 150 feet seaward from the seawall. To complete the berm construcοΏ½tion, an estimated 300,000 cubic yards of sand will be sourced from an upland locaοΏ½tion, trucked in, and placed along the project area.
