Amendment 001 - The purpose of this amendment is to address questions received from interested vendors and extend the response date for quotes due.
Q1. Does the government have any suggestions for caterers for subcontracting opportunities in Hawthorne?
A1. The government will not typically recommend a source, but Hawthorne is a limited market. The El Capitan Restaurant has provided boxed meals as a subcontracted source on previous occasions.
Q2. Is it allowable to subcontract with multiple caterers. We are not able to find a single caterer to provide meals for the entire time?
A2. This is allowable and even encouraged in some instances. The government expects a variety in the meals provided during the course of training. Some caterers have a larger menu than others. Using multiple caterers will ensure variety and boost Servicemember moral.
Q3. Does the government have a facility in Hawthorne for meal preparation?
A3. No, the government will not provide facilities for contractor use for meal preparation in Hawthorne or Carson City. The contractor must deliver boxed prepared meals as stated in the Statement of Requirements.
