Justification, Statutory Authority: FAR 13.1061(b)(1)(i) - Soliciting Competition; (b)Soliciting from a single source. (1) For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. (i) Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, and brandname or industrial mobilization).
DESC: The Air Force Test Pilot School Operating Location Edwards Air Force Base, CA intends to solicit and award a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price contract, under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Services and FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to COMPUNETIX, INC. 2420 MOSSIDE BLVD. MONROEVILLE, PA 15146-4253. The NAICS code is 334310 and its size standard is 750 employees.
This single-source purchase will be for the Compunetix Hardware Warranty.
The reason for this sole-source award is due to COMPUNETIX, INC. being the sole source to provide direct sales of system and accessories, replacement parts, extended manufacturer-s warranty software support, and hardware repairs and services.
This acquisition is conducted under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901 as implemented by FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii) which allows other than full and open competition when the supplies or services requested by an agency are available from only one responsible source.”
