• Expression of Interest are invited for Consultant to Lead Green Transition Capacity Building in the Western Balkans. Through Ifc-S Green Europe Project; Ifc is Supporting the Manufacturing; Retail; Property; Tourism and Services Sectors- Green Transition with Three Key Objectives: (1) Building the Know-How and Capacity to Accelerate the Green Transition; (2) Facilitating the Alignment of Private Sector Investments and Reporting with Key Eu Sustainability Regulations and Transition Planning; And (3) Supporting Companies Green Their Industrial and Commercial Real Estate Portfolios; Decarbonize Their Operations and Implement Circular Business models.in a Landscape of Evolving Regulations and Changing Risks and Opportunities; Knowledge; Awareness; Informed Networks; Access to Relevant Tools and Technologies and Private Service Providers to Support Them in Their Decarbonization and Circularity Projects is Increasingly Important for Companies. Objective 1: ‘Building Know-How and Capacity to Accelerate the Green Transition- Seeks to Address this Challenge by Developing Private Sector-Led Knowledge and Awareness as Well as Access to Tools and Technologies Related to Decarbonization and Circularity; And to Equip Private Sector Partners to Support Companies in Their Green transition.to Achieve this Objective; Ifc will Create a Region-Wide Knowledge Initiative; Such as a Green & Sustainable Business Academy; To be Hosted by Ifc; In Partnership with Austria; And by Industry Partners; And will Deliver a Series of Knowledge; Capacity Building and Training Events Targeted at Aforementioned Sectors; With some Focus on Hard-to-Abate Industries Such as Steel; Cement; Chemicals; Glass; Aluminium and Construction Materials; As Well as at Sustainability and Management Consultancies in the Western Balkans (Albania; Bosnia and Herzegovina; Kosovo; Montenegro; North Macedonia and Serbia).as a Result of this Work; Ifc Aims to Increase the Awareness; Interest and Ability of the Private Sector in the Region to Invest in Decarbonization Solutions as Well as to Increase the Availability of Advisory Services Relating to the Green Transition in the Region. Examples of Topics to be Covered through the Initiative Include Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (Cbam); The Energy Trading System (Ets)/Carbon Credits; Greenhouse Gas (Ghg) Accounting (Scopes 1-3) and Supply Chain Decarbonization; Climate Adaptation & Mitigation Technologies and Related Business Model Adaptation; Decarbonization; And First of a Kind (Foak) Facilities and Their planning.ifc is Looking for a Consultant to Support Delivery against this Objective Throughout 2024-2026; With the Possibility of Expanding the Initiative to Other Geographies at a Later stage.the Consultant is Expected to Design and Launch a Region-Wide Knowledge and Capacity-Building Initiative Targeted at Mid- to Large-Size Private Companies in the Aforementioned Sectors and Sustainability and Management Consultants in the Region. As Part of this Work; Ifc Expects the Consultant to Partner with and Leverage Relevant Stakeholders Such as Industry Associations; Research Institutions and/or Local consultancies.activities will Include:1.Scoping and Designing a Regional Capacity-Building and Knowledge Initiative; Including Conducting a Needs Assessment; Engaging with Stakeholders; Identifying Transition Topics; Target Audience; Business Model and Local Delivery Models; And Developing an Initiative Landing Page.2.Identifying Corporate Sponsors and/or Other Partners: Identifying Potential Sponsors/Partners; Preparing Presentations; Supporting Discussions and Drafting Term Sheets.3.Designing and Delivering Key Events; Including a Series of Launch Events in 2025 and Regional Summit Events in 2026.4.Designing; Launching and Managing a Region-Wide Online Capacity-Building and Knowledge Platform with the Objective of Creating Informed Networks among Regional and International Players; As Well as to Disseminate Best Practices on Decarbonization and Circularity in the Aforementioned Sectors.5.Organizing and Delivering Knowledge / Capacity Building Programs and Events; Consisting of Three Tailored Training Programs for Participants from Companies in the Aforementioned Sectors; With the Objective of Increasing Knowledge; Awareness and Access to Tools and Technologies Related to Decarbonization and Circularity and to Facilitate Investments in the Green Transition. The Programs will be Co-Delivered with Trainers Trained under the Train the Trainer Programme.6.Organizing and Delivering a Train the Trainer Programme; With the Objective of Strengthening the Skills and Capacity of Local Sustainability and Management Consultants to Advise Regional Companies on the Green transition.these Activities are Aimed at Facilitating Private Sector Investments in the Green Transition and Their Integration into Regional; Eu and Global Value Chains and at Supporting Companies in the Western Balkans on Identifying Sustainable and Commercially Viable Projects that could be Implemented with Ifc-S Financing and Advisory Support.
