- The San Mateo County Parks Department is seeking proposals from qualified vegetation management Contractors for services for the Crocker Gate Shaded Fuel Break Project at San Bruno Mountain State and County Park. The project aims to reduce wildfire hazard by establishing a shaded fuel break along Crocker Avenue adjacent to the Moderate Fire Hazard Area near the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) residential community of Daly City.The project area encompasses approximately 5.6 acres along Crocker Avenue and Old Guadalupe Trail within the park boundaries, targeting vegetation management within 100 feet of the property boundary. Vegetation management will include thinning and removal of understory vegetation and debris, removal of trees up to 10 inches in diameter, and removal of dead standing or hazardous trees where accessible.
