Description
The single frequency “Cobolt Disco” laser head generating 500mW at 780nm wavelength and featuring linewidth under 50kHz (measured with 1ms integration time) will be used as a probe beam for ultrasensitive Brillouin light scattering spectrometer. The setup will be used for studying high frequency elastic excitations in nanostructures through detecting inelastic light scattering generated by the sound waves. This capability is essential for the current program seeking to establish a novel approach for elastic wave generation, confinement and readout in the extremely high frequency range (EHF, 30-300GHz) with the goal of enabling EHF signal processing in the optical-mechanical (OM) domain.
This is a full and open competitive announcement in accordance with 19.502-2 (a) on a Firm-Firm Fixed-Price (FFP) basis. Award shall be made to the quoter whose quotation offers the lowest-priced, technically acceptable solution (LPTA).
