The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract for a five (5) year period with the University of Washington, Department of Epidemiology, 3980 15th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98195 to provide data analyst support to execute data cleaning, analyses, summarization, interpretation, and other activities in support of research analyses using epidemiologic research data from VA-supported epidemiologic research projects for the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Epidemiologic Research and Information Center (ERIC), Seattle, WA. Investigators and supporting staff have been using data analysis resources from the Department of Epidemiology in the School of Public Health at the University of Washington for the past five (5) years. The University of Washington has the highly specialized knowledge and data analysis skills required to facilitate the deliverable of organizing analyzed data for presentation and publication, along with summarizing findings in tables or figures for inclusion in progress reports and published materials such as abstracts and manuscripts. Investigators and supporting staff have been utilizing University of Washington data analysts to support a series of research projects that are related to Veteran health. The University of Washington is the primary academic affiliate of the Seattle division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. 38 U.S.C. 8153 allows for sole source awards related to research with VA academic affiliates.Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to Contract Opportunities on SAM.gov.
