- Expression of Interest are invited for Data Driven Transformation of Electric Utilities in Developing Countries. This activity will assess emerging opportunities for data-driven decision making to improve operational performance, harness opportunities for additional revenue streams and enable innovative business models. The activity will develop a reference guide and high-level roadmap for utilities in developing countries to understand the data and analytics landscape in the power sector and associated use cases and opportunities to harness data being generated by digital technologies. This reference guide will include: a landscape overview and roadmap for data-driven utility transformation, short case examples on the experiences of select power utilities in data analytics, and a series of short technical primers on specific topics related to implementing a data analytics program in a developing country context. The guide will also highlight enabling conditions and cost-benefit considerations to harness data collected in a secure, and privacy-preserving way.
