Page 1 of 1INTRODUCTION:The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the construction of Building 1 Level 1 Clinics Renovations at the Des Moines VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS) located at 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Central Iowa Health Care System, intends to issue a solicitation for a general contractor to perform renovation services at the Des Moines VA Medical Center. The project involves the renovation of 13,900 square feet of clinic space on Level 1 of Building 1.The scope includes, but is not limited to, all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision required to complete selective demolition and construction activities. Work will involve architectural modifications and updates to systems including fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications. All work shall be completed in accordance with the Basis of Design and the construction documents. ADMINISTRATIVE:The solicitation will be issued as a Invitation for Bid (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 with a size standard of $45 million. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in late July/August 2025. The period of performance is approximately 730 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
