Description : The Independent Living and Assistive Technology Section invites you to review and respond to this Request for Proposal (RFP) # 25-04-01, entitled California Assistive Technology (AT) Program, for the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR).The purpose of the AT Program is to increase awareness of and access to AT for persons with all types of disabilities, of all ages, and in all settings. California's AT Program at the DOR is supported through the 21st Century Assistive Technology Act, hereafter referred to as the AT Act, federal Social Security Administration Reimbursements, and State general funds. The goal of AT State Leadership and State Level activities is to increase availability and acquisition of AT for individuals with all types of disabilities in California that may help with education, employment, daily activities, and inclusion of people in their communities. Through this solicitation, DOR is seeking proposals to establish an agreement with a single not-for-profit organization located in California to operate, enhance, and expand the statewide California AT Program.A person with a disability refers to an individual who has a physical, mental health, intellectual, developmental, hearing, vision, cognitive, chronic health condition, or other disability or impairment that limits one or more major life activity such as self-care, capacity for independent living and self-direction, and/or cognitive functioning and emotional adjustment.
