The United States of American, alongside Mexico and Canada, will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This presents a unique opportunity to showcase America-s historic role as host of the world-s most popular sporting event, while highlighting American exceptionalism in sports, sportsmanship, and fair competition through our strong people-to-people with Romania.The U.S. Embassy Bucharest Public Diplomacy Section seeks to partner with a contractor to design and implement a short public awareness campaign and a series of public viewing events across Romania that will bring communities (especially youth) together to watch and celebrate the U.S. National Team and the World Cup.ObjectivesThe campaign and events should:•Highlight the United States historic role as 2026 World Cup host nation.•Celebrate the U.S. National Team-s participation in the 2026 World Cup.•Highlight America-s leadership in sports diplomacy, and the American values of sportsmanship, fair play, and open competition.Period of Performance•Campaign kickoff: approximately one week prior to the opening match (June 11, 2026).•Public viewing events: June 11 - July 19, 2026.
1. Pre-Tournament Awareness Campaign
Develop and run a short media/digital campaign in early June 2026 to highlight U.S. hosting of the FIFA World Cup. Promote the upcoming viewing events.2.
