Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Natick Division in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Impressio, Inc., located at 7270 Gilpin Way Suite 120, Denver, Colorado 80229-6564, under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
The requirement is for the investigation, development, and evaluation of improved headbourne protection systems utilizing 3D printed material and rate sensitive polymers for use as a helmet liner. This effort is a follow-on to contract number W911QY-21-C-0038 which was awarded to Impressio, Inc. in which they gained a foundational knowledge of the topic and demonstrated a quality technology that shows promise to push the state of the art. Impressio, Inc. is also the sole provider of the novel rate sensitive polymer of interest that will be utilized throughout this effort. Research indicates the only source that can provide unique guidance without encountering technical and programmatic challenges that a new supplier would encounter is Impressio, Inc.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 541715 and the size standard is 1000 employees.
