The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intents to purchase, on a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) basis, End of Life (EOL) Brand Name DigiKey Servers, in accordance with the attached combined solicitation/synopsis.
Summary of rational to procure these servers on a Brand Name basis is as follows: These servers are the only server currently approved for use in an existing Navy System, and is part of the system hardware baseline. As these servers are no longer manufacturered, a suggested replacement is currently undergoing form/fit/function evaluation and shock testing. It is estimated to take 2 years before a new design can be validated and approved for integration. The government does not have enough Digi Servers to sustain mission need, untill the new design is approved and integrated. - Documents:
