Tender are invited for Project # SFHWY00683 The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing to make in-kind repairs and replacements of damaged components to re-hang the fender panel and re-secure the catwalk to dolphin-s upper platform of Berth 1 at the ferry terminal in Ketchikan, Alaska. The fender panel on the existing dolphin, E5, at the Ketchikan Ferry Terminal was damaged by a vessel collision and requires immediate repairs. One of the two vertical chains supporting the fender panel broke during the collision along with mounting brackets and other miscellaneous parts of the backup structure supporting the fender panel, catwalk, and mooring bollard. Construction is anticipated to begin in late fall 2025 and finish within one season. The proposed project is located in a mapped floodplain, Zone AE. With the proposed activities, the encroachments are to be minor, with no net changes to the base flood elevation, thus they would not result in significant encroachments.
