Tender are invited for Project # SFHWY00679 The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing to replace the deteriorated sections of anchor chain at 19 locations and replace four (4) steel cable tie-backs along the concrete float at the Skagway Ferry Terminal located in Skagway, Alaska.A separate project will be programmed to address the rest of the maintenance issues at the Skagway Ferry Terminal facility.The project is needed to increase the longevity of the existing facility and improve safety for the traveling public. Construction is anticipated to begin in late spring of 2026 and finish within one construction season. The proposed project is located in an unmapped floodplain zone. With the proposed activities, the encroachments are to be minor, with no net changes to the base flood elevation, thus they would not result in significant encroachments.
