Tender are invited for Project # SFHWY00603The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing to install center-line rumble strips on rural highways on Prince of Wales Island.The proposed project would: • Stretch across approximately 46 total miles along North Prince of Wales Road, Thorne Bay Road, and Big Salt Lake Road • Remove and replace the current center lines of affected streets with rumble strips in kind • Exclude bridges or sections of the road that pass over a creek or riverProject area is not mapped for floodplains. Based on geography and planned construction, the project would not be expected to impact any flood conditions.Construction is projected to begin in spring 2026. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by DOT&PF pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated April 13, 2023, and executed by FHWA and DOT&PF.Development of this proposed project would follow a process requi... - Documents:
