Tender are invited for Project # SFHWY00449 The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is finalizing designs for a project that would construct a chip seal overlay to select roads managed by the DOT&PF in the Petersburg area. Roadways to be treated include:• Mitkof Highway• Haugen Drive• Scow Bay Loop Road• Three Lakes Loop Road• Papke-s Landing Road The proposed project would: • Apply a chip seal overlay to existing roads• Construct sub-base repairs of roadway embankment at select locationsConstruction is projected to begin in summer 2026.Construction of this project will require the closure of driveways along roadways to allow the chip seal application to cure. Closures are expected to take place over one-mile corridors - a single lane at a time - for a duration of approximately three hours. DOT&PF will provide more information regarding the timing of closures as the design of the project progresses.
