Description:
The project includes all personnel, equipment, materials, tools, vehicles, supervision, and other items and services required to perform maintenance dredging (by mechanical means) of the entrance channel into the mooring basin of USCG STA Eaton’s Neck. It also includes all efforts required for placing the material along a nearby shoreline and incidental related work. The total estimated amount of material to be removed from the channel is 6,000 cubic yards of sand, gravel, and cobbles and is based on previous years’ estimates.
Dredging work is restricted to mechanical methods. Due to the scheduling restrictions in the NY DEC dredging permit, all dredging work shall be completed no later than March 24th 2026. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the project specifications (PSN 24014900), Department of Army Permit (NAN-2016-00301), New York DEC Permit (1-4726-00545/00022) (See Appendix A of the Specifications).
The dredge spoils shall be disposed at the USCG STA Eaton’s Neck Beach Site per the USACE and NY DEC permits. Additional work requirements are herein. In the event that the post-dredge survey indicates that the specified dredge limits have not been met by March 24th, the contractor shall use the time remaining in the month of March to correct the deficiencies. No work is permitted after March 31st due to permitting and environmental restrictions.
