Westlaw is an online legal research service and proprietary database for lawyers and legal professionals available in over 60 countries. Information resources on Westlaw include more than 40,000 databases of case law, state and federal statutes, administrative codes, newspaper and magazine articles, public records, law journals, law reviews, treatises, legal forms and other information resources.
The Commerce Research Library manages the contracts for several online databases and resources that support the work of Commerce employees. These electronic resources allow the Department to save money by providing access to all of HCHB and/or other regional offices under a single subscription, reduce the need for physical storage space for the print equivalent, and allow users to access information at their desktops.
DOC staff require continued access to legal and legislative information, including cases, statutes, regulations, legislative materials, and administrative materials, along with legal secondary sources, treatises, journals, and news to support their work.
