Description:
It is the intent of this solicitation to contract with a single vendor for repair and maintenance of elevators, and other similar conveyances in all county-owned buildings. This solicitation will result in a unit-price public works contract for repairs to elevators, and a separate prevailing wage purchased service contract for maintenance of elevators throughout the county, on a monthly basis.All work completed under either a public works or service agreement is subject to prevailing wage laws in chapter 39.12 RCW.Pierce county buildings including but not limited to such locations as Remann Hall, County Jail, County/City Building, Sewer and Traffic Operations (STOP) facility, Sprinker Rec Center, two county-owned ferries, Chambers Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant and other county-owned buildings (see supplement #1 for complete list with addresses) require monthly maintenance inspections to keep elevators and other conveyances such as dumbwaiters and wheelchair lifts in good working condition and comply with state requirements.
