B.4 SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS1. BACKGROUND: The Orlando VA Healthcare System is requesting a retractor designed for trans-oral surgery. This retractor can be used in either standard or robotic trans-oral surgery. It is required to be table mounted and have a variety of blades that attach to the arm of the retractor. These retractor blades can be adjusted in regards to the angle they present into the operative area to allow for maximum visualization.2. SCOPE: The Orlando VA Healthcare System is requesting contractors provide brand name equipment or Equal that meets or exceed the physical, functional and performance of the listed salient characteristics in this section. The equipment feature is essential to the technical requirements to meet the need of the government. 3.BRAND NAME OR EQUAL: Olympus FK-WO TORS - ENT Retractor Set for Laryngo-Pharyngoscopy to include the below requirements.WT645000 FK-WO TORS Set WT218700 Articulated arm, L shaped stand, 470 x 170 mm WT218705 Clamp socket, for articulated arm WT218711 Adapter for retractor/laryngoscope basic frame WT218720 Adapter for retractor, endoscope or mouth gag4. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Equipment must have the physical characteristics to enable the government to perform the capabilities:One-piece handle and joint.5. FUNCTIONAL AND PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS: Equipment must provide the following functional and performance capability to: Must be table mounted self-retaining retractor.Frame arms have to be independently adjustable.Each blade arm must be independent of movement from the other.Must have swivel lock blades and swivel handles.All blades and frames must be steam autoclavable.Table rail clamp must be steam autoclavable.6. TRAINING AND INSTALLATION: Not required..
