Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Flat Panel Multipurpose Display (FPMPD), NSN 1270-01-673-7123FX, PN 114000-39.
ITEM DESCRIPTION
The FPMPD is a F3I replacement for the F-15E MPD, a 6”x 6” Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monochrome display, which replaces the CRT with a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). The FPMPD is a monochrome green display that provides a sunlight readable, high-resolution display with excellent contrast and uniformity. It is designed to enhance and optimize information transfer to the pilot when used to display critical mission and situational awareness information including digital map, FLIR sensor imagery, and other tactical or navigation information.
Impediment to Competition:
The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Collins Aerospace (CAGE 84T51), which maintains its configuration by part number and software version. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Collins Aerospace is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the FPMPD performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment.
INTEREST
The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Collins Aerospace for the manufacture of the FPMPD in support of the F-15E program.
