Job Description:
FAA Power Services Group (PSG) Electrical Line Distribution (ELD) Program desires a feasibility study for designing/constructing alternative energy systems (AES) (solar, wind, etc) to supplement existing FAA generating capacity on the island. The island supports radio and navigation facilities for commercial airlines and the military. A submarine power cable to supply needed power has been deemed not cost effective due to the distance of Middleton Island from mainland Alaska.
