- The City of Milpitas is soliciting proposals for Medical Services for its Fire Department. This Request for Proposal (RFP) consists of of one main section and two separate packages. Proposers are directed to review and respond the information contained in this main RFP, which includes general terms, conditions and requirements that are applicable to both packages, and submit any package-specific responses in the respective Package A and/or Package B section. Proposers may respond to one or both packages. Each package will be evaluated and awarded separately, resulting into two contracts. The estimated start date for each contract shall be July 1, 2026 for a five-year term.Package A: Annual Physical Exams & Related ServicesThe City is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide annual physical exams and related services to Fire Department personnel, in accordance with:Joint Labor Management Wellness Fitness Initiative and/orNational Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1582 Standard on Medical Programs for Fire Departments.National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1583 Standard on Health - Related Fitness Programs for Fire Department MembersProposers should have in-depth knowledge of fire service specific medical assessments, including baseline medical evaluations, consolidated medical assessment, immunizations (as needed), data record-keeping services, and including, but not limited to, electronic data reporting in accordance with the above-mentioned initiative, standard and programs. The City is requesting all physical examinations to be completed onsite at the a City facility.Please see Scope of Services for Package A for detailed requirements.Package B: Medical Advisor for Emergency Medical ServicesThe City is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to serve as a Medical Advisor to the Fire Departments Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program.
