PLEASE NOTE: BIDS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED FROM PREQUALIFIED GENERAL CONTRACTORSRFPQ190334A - PRE-QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS-REBID FOR FIRE STATION #4 CONSTRUCTION PROJECTThe following General Contractors have been prequalified to bid on this project:BEALS MARTIN AND ASSOCIATES, INC.GONSALVES & STRONCK CONSTRUCTION COMPANY INC.SAUSAL CORPORATIONVANCE BROWN, INC.W.E. LYONS CONSTRUCTION CO.SUMMARY:Fire Station No. 4 was built in 1953 and located at 3600 Middlefield Road and shares a parcel with the City of Palo Alto Utilities substation. The existing fire station building does not serve the current needs of the Fire Department and does not effectively use the current 0.6-acre portion of the property. City Council included the replacement of Fire Station No. 4 in the Infrastructure Plan approved in June 2014. This project will provide a new facility built to current essential services standards with a high likelihood of being fully operational during and after a major disaster such as a significant earthquake.The new fire station will be a building code compliant essential services facility for emergency response. The project will consist of the following components:Construction of a new fire station to be LEED certified and all-electricDeconstruction of existing fire station buildingProtection of the existing fuel station on site during constructionNew landscaping including green stormwater infrastructure to be C.3 certifiedPublic and staff parkingNew sidewalk and drivewaysSee Project Drawings, Specifications, and Appendices for more details.
