NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is prescribed by FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The MICC-Fort Jackson, South Carolina intends to award a Sole Source Contract to 3D Systems Inc., UEI QXEBMAKXX2X8, 333 Three D Systems Cir, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730-7811. This contract is for 3D Printer Repair and Maintenance Service for a base year and one option year. The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). The proposed contract action is Sole Source. As part of market research, a source sought notice was posted on https://sam.gov from 12 June 2025 through 23 June 2025 to determine the availability, and capability of interested small business sources. No responses were received, and no potential sources provided any supporting documents to show capability to meet this requirement. 3D Systems Inc. is the only manufacturer and provider of these services, and holds the exclusive rights to the licensing, implementation, upgrade, repair, modification, and software and material support. It is not available for general distribution or resale to third parties. In accordance with FAR Subpart 5.102, the required justification documentation is attached.
