- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intend to award a sole source time and materials purchase order to Rocky Mountain Air Solution for the purchase of weekly delivery of liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide (CO2) to keep important cell lines and virus samples stored safely. The product/service we are seeking is essential for maintaining the integrity and viability of our virus samples and cell lines, which require cryogenic storage at temperatures of -140°C. Our laboratory operates under strict timelines, necessitating weekly deliveries of these gases. The nature of our work demands just-in-time delivery to ensure that our cryo freezers remain operational and that our samples are not compromised. Local suppliers are essential to meet these urgent delivery requirements, as delays could lead to catastrophic losses of vital laboratory resources. The failure to maintain cryogenic conditions poses a significant risk of contamination and loss of our samples. The unique combination of timely delivery, local availability, and the specific properties of liquid nitrogen and CO2 makes this service indispensable for our laboratory operations.
