Description
PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT: This announcement constitutes a presolicitation announcement of a proposed contract action pursuant to FAR 5.204. This is not a solicitation. No response is requested at this time. A formal solicitation will follow this announcement with full details, including a response deadline, the complete price proposal schedule, the construction plans and specifications, instructions to offerors, and the evaluation factors/basis for award.OFFERORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THIS WEBSITE FOR CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE AND THE FORMAL SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. PLANNED SOLICITATION: The final Solicitation for this project will be announced anytime between 15 and 30 days after the posting of this presolicitation. The contract type will be firm-fixed-price. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of maintenance dredging approximately 3,248,500 (BASE 3,016,000) cubic yards of unclassified material from Charleston Lower Harbor, Charleston Upper Harbor, Joint Base Charleston, TC Dock (OPTION), and USCG Pier Papa (OPTION), Charleston and Berkeley Counties, South Carolina. Material dredged from Charleston Lower Harbor Shoals 5 and 6 shall be placed in Daniel Island Placement Area Middle Cell. Material dredged from Charleston Upper Harbor Shoals 13 18 shall be placed in Clouter Creek Placement Area with approximately 500,000 cubic yards of material to be placed in the North Cell, and all remaining material to be placed in South Cell, including material from Pier P. Material Dredged from Joint Base Charleston Channel shall be placed in the Joint Base Charleston Placement Area, including material from TC Dock. The work includes complying with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammals Protection Act. MAGNITUDE OF WORK: $10,000,000 TO $25,000,000
