Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking to award one or more IndefiniteDelivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contracts for the purchase of standard commercial adult vaccines. Theestablishment of these contracts provides opportunity to utilize Section 317 vaccine purchase funds to obtainvaccines at prices below those available in the commercial marketplace. These funds provide vaccines for state andlocal health departments to use in populations at greatest risk for under vaccination and disease. The 317 programas established under Section 317(j) of the Public Health Service Act, works to ensure that adults receive appropriateimmunization by partnering with healthcare providers in the public and private sectors. The program helps assurethe implementation of effective immunization practices and proper use of vaccines to achieve higher immunizationcoverage. The vaccines awarded under these contracts will be purchased for the National Center for Immunizationand Respiratory Disease-s (NCIRD-s) immunization awardees (the fifty state health departments, several large cityprograms, and current and former U.S. Territories) to support adult immunization programs as provided underSection 317(j) of the Public Health Service Act. In addition, awardees may opt to purchase additional quantities ofvaccine for adults under any resulting contract using state and local funds.
