Description:
The selected attorney/firm shall serve as General Counsel to GCTD and will have general responsibility for overseeing the Districts legal affairs. The General Counsel will report to the Board of Directors and provide support to GCTD staff as needed. The General Counsel must be licensed and be a member in good standing with the California State Bar.The General Counsel will be asked to attend GCTDs board meetings. These meetings are held a minimum of 11 times a year, typically the 1st Wednesday of the month at 10am-12pm at GCTD-s facility located at 1901 Auto Center Drive, Oxnard. The General Counsel may also on be asked to attend special meetings on an \"as needed\" basis on specific matters. The attorney will be required to be available for regular phone conferences as needed. The General Counsel will be typically be expected to work from 5-10 hours per month, which may increase in months during which General Counsel-s involvement in labor negotiations as required or when a major capital/construction project is being planned or implemented.
