Description
The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to CEPHEID INC. This order will be for the maintenance and repair service for for GeneXpert systems at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC. Historical data and market research has determined CEPHEID INC. is the only source for this service. CEPHEID INC. has been identified as the only authorized vendor who can supply this service.This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all expressions of interest received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. Interested contractors may identify their capability to provide the services prescribed within this notice and should provide sufficient data for the government to determine them as a comparable alternative to the intended source. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 13.106-1 (b).
