Description:
As part of its efforts to remainup to date with the latest technology developments and market dynamics in thesolid waste sector, IFC is looking to appoint a specialist consultant (“theConsultant”) to undertake a review of the market for bio-methanol obtained fromlandfill gas (LFG) and Anaerobic Digestion (AD) biogas globally, with a primary(but not limited) focus on the use of the bio-methanol as a fuel for theshipping industry as part of their decarbonization efforts. The purpose of this assignment isto provide: 1) an overview of the current status of technical and commercial developmentof bio-methanol markets globally, covering both supply and demand side; 2) aninformed view of how the bio-methanol markets can be expected to develop overthe next 5 to 10 years for selected industries, and; 3) an assessment of whatwould be the key competition differentiators that may determine success orfailure for private players looking to develop bio-methanol projects.
