Tender are invited for The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is beginning the process to develop a management plan for the Goose Bay State Game Refuge (SGR) near Point Mackenzie. The Goose Bay SGR was one of the first state game refuges; it was created by the legislature in 1975 in recognition of its significance as a staging area for waterfowl migration and for its high-quality nesting habitat. This management plan* will provide long-term guidance for habitat management decisions on state-owned lands within the Goose Bay SGR. The first step in this planning process is to collect input from members of the public about how they use the refuge currently, what resources in the refuge they value, any concerns they see, and any suggestions they have for future habitat management in the SGR. This information will be used by agency staff to develop Goals and Policies for the Goose Bay SGR Management Plan.
